mg13 firing pin removal

Post by blckwlfny »

I was putting in a "training firing pin" into a spare bolt so I could have the gun at living history events without damaging the live pin. But, I cant figure out how to remove the pin. the set screw at the base just keeps turning but doesn't back out. depressing the pin slightly and applying gentle pressure on the opposite side of the screw also does not work

any suggestions?
thanks

I think I answered this over on WeaponsGuild, but for completeness let's do it here also.

IIRC the pin is a split pin, so you push it through instead of trying to unscrew it. The firing pin should then drop out.
