Hi All,
This is one that just arrived in the mail from the Netherlands, it was being sold as a MG08 ammo can. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is an oil box and the partition ( sadly removed) would have run across the can rather than length ways and a circular pop up has been added to the lid which I guess would have been to accommodate something tall that fitted in the box.What a lot of effort to make something fit the box! Anyone have a complete box to give me an idea of the original contents? And any indication of weather it is actually a MG08 oil box would be appreciated as Im only guessing that it could be.

Thank you for the pictures David, it is great to see the oil chest in a period photograph. The Oil cans are lovely also,seeing them in the chest is definitely inspiration to try and find some for my own oil chest.
