Help identify this maxim elevating gearbox.

Post by jmann »

I picked this up thinking it was for a sled but later realized it was for a 1916 type mount. The mounting base however looks different than my 1916 or my Swiss mount. Is this for some type of fortress/oddball mount?

Very cool! Where did you find that? Did you get anything else with it?

If it comes up for sale, please let me know!

I bought it from Folke at the creek. Figured it was just what was needed to rehab the tired gearbox on the sled recovered from the lawn ornament. Now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't crack it open for parts. I'm working on another deal at the moment with some German parts in it and if it goes through it might have some stuff of interest in it.
