Interesting and unique MG08 sled outfitted with Sokolov wheels by Russians.

With my friend Fritz, the new owner of this sledmound; we were wondering if it was a made from WWI or after, indeed the Russian wheels which I was able to see dating the WWI are different at the level of the hub!

Very interesting. What does the inside of the wheel look like?

The worst part is that its almost impossible to prove when its done if you can't find a historical picture to back it up. It would be just to easy to do today...

My Sokolov mount with Optics bracket has those kinds of wheels... Its not a WWI Sokolov mount. Probably late 20s or 1930s. I am guessing that was done post WWI...

Thats a very interesting modification! I wonder if the wheels may be Finnish replacements for the Sokolov?
