i think it was green mountain---sold by wiselite and others
Re: mg42 barrels
I left a message (sign of the times) at GM and never heard back. I think it would be low priority until the current frenzy clears.

I'd be in for a few if you need to get your numbers up.
Re: mg42 barrels
Do we do group buys on MG42? Might be a good way to make our quantity interesting to them. Do we have board members here that know somebody in GM?

Re: mg42 barrels
You guys are optimistic. Are you expecting to have enough 8mm to burn out more than 1 or 2 8mm barrels? I decided to stick to 7.62x51 in my 42. Those barrels are easy to find new for around $125.
Depending on price, I might be interested in an 8mm barrel, but I'll ASSume these are sold without extensions installed?

i like to shoot 8mm
Re: mg42 barrels
I like to play toys. Whats the point of a quick change barrel and fashionable change mitt if ya don't use them? We can order shims for HS if needed.
I think it would be more attractive to a vendor if they could sell just the barrel. Pushing the HS with your extension on them would probably sink the whole thing.

I must be missing something. How do you use shims to adjust headspace on an MG42?marknct wrote:We can order shims for HS if needed.

Re: mg42 barrels
Me too. The 42 sounds BEST with 8mm, but at 1000RPM its not going to be a viable option in the future.K98dkmauser wrote:i like to shoot 8mm

I haven't really read up on the HS procedure. I was under the impression that you could shim the barrel to extension to increase HS.
I can go back and edit that out if it doesn't apply, let me know.
