WWI Museums - Peronne
Provided moderators and members are happy, how about a thread showing all MG08 & MG08/15's on display in museums. I popped over to 2 museums in France today and so here are the ''starters''.

Display in
Armed Forces History Museum
2050 34th Way North
Largo, FL 33771

Sorry about the bad shot. It's inside a glass display with low lighting. Flash bounces back so this was taken, hand held without flash. If requested I can go back and take a few more pics of it. Display is set up showing it shooting out into a street area.

Thanks chaps for the 'museum' contributions. Actually quite an interesting thread if I may say so myself!
Keep them coming. Need more of the Italien, German and Norwegian museums which I am told all have some excellent German maxim displays.

for the glass shots-either use a tripod with no flash,or lean camera against some solid object-even the glass.Disable the flash and get a longer exposure.Watch for reflections and move camera to avoid them. the closer you are to the glass, the better. ---bil

Bil
Got that right on the camera hold. When I was taking photos in Paris and London Museums I was not allowed to use flash. Also not allowed to use tripods. So now what do you do????
1st Bil is right if there is glass that you can lean your hand on to support your camera on then you go with that. Try to wide off your hand print when done.
2nd Use a tripod, if allowed, some Museums don't allow tripods. Now what? Well I "have" a "bad back" and use a "walking stick", really a Bogen mono pod camera holder do set my camera on. Also been known to see it in the field to rest my rifles on, also can use it as a walking stick. Bogen makes a nice line of them. Could also use one of those walking sticks from walmart that they sell for around $10.00.
3rd Did not think that you would have those problems and did not bring anything. Best of luck and like shooting a weapon, take a breath 1/2 out then hold and try to take several pictures... Good Luck.
In my case on the above photo. Low light and then an area between my self and the glass, so I was several feet away from the glass that I was trying to shoot through. Also try to angle your camera so that the flash is not straight on.
Still hardest photos to take ---- Gymnastics ------ Always low light, Fast action, CAN'T use flash.... Flash risk getting punched out by someone.
Any rate I'll try looking for more photo's for this post.
