THEFT PLEASE REVIEW!!!!

Post by 42rocker »

Received the following in an email from IMA about the Theft. Several items for us to watch out for. Review the list and see if you can help catch a bad guy or two.

Later 42rocker

Some very unfortunate news to report this holiday weekend- IMA was robbed. We estimate that between $250,000- $300,000 worth of material was stolen from one of our long term storage facilities in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Here is a partial list of items that were stolen in sizable quantities:

Original German MG 13 Magazines, 8 to a transit chest (mags all dated 1938)
Original German MG 13 Magazines 8 to two canvas pouches w/ Neck strap (mags dated 1938)
Original German MP 34(o) Streyr Solothurn Magazines, 3 to a leather pouch
Original German MG 34 Belt Baskets in Dual Steel Carriers
Original German MG 34 Dual Basket Carriers, without baskets
Original Antique Nepalese Gahendra 1885 Untouched Rifles
Original Antique Nepalese Khukri Fighting Knives
Original Portuguese FPB (MP40) SMG Parts Sets, without receiver, bagged
Original British WW2 Foot Powder in marked cans
Original unissued U.S. WW2 Khaki webb belts
Original unissued U.S. 5 cell Khaki web Thompson 20 round Magazine pouches

Fortunately NO Modern (post 1898) Firearms were involved.

In late December 2011 and January 2012 we saw multiple advertisements on Lehigh Valley Craigslist and a classified ad in a local newspaper advertising what believe to be our material. Then, due to firsthand reports, we were told that distribution was centered around a private residence in Bangor, Pennsylvania. Furthermore, lots of the above material surfaced at a recent local gun show, and a few first class vendors even gave it back! They sure put a silver lining on a dark cloud.

We think that some of this material has yet to hit the market, and since our many of our items are unique and the collecting world relatively small, we hope to recover it or at the very least serve justice to those who stole from our family business.

Fortunately both Law Enforcement and the Press are taking this matter very seriously. For more details here is a link to an article published in yesterday's paper: www.lehighvalleylive.com

The Pennsylvania State Police and the New Jersey Police are involved and have made some initial arrests. However, the investigations are still very active so if you or anyone you know has any information whatsoever please reply to this email and/or call us at 908-903-1200. Furthermore, the Pennsylvania State Police asks anyone with information about the reported thefts to call the Belfast barracks at 610-759-6106.

sounds that they caught the numnuts that did it...if there were others, hopefully the two caught will rat on their pals!

Glad these two were stupid enough to try to sell it back to the place they stole it from
