C&R class 3

Post by Turtleguy »

I have been perusing some sites that sell Full Auto Guns. I am moving to a more tolerant state. I see some guns listed as Curio and Relic. What does this mean?
Thanks

Curio and Relic is established as a classification of guns whereas most of the value of the firearm comes from the fact that it's a collector type weapon, or that it's over 50 years old.

The extra bonus of C&R weapons is that anyone can get a C&R license ($30 for 3 years?) which enables you to directly buy C&R classified firearms out of your home state. This means an MG34 could be bought from out of state without having to pay a second transfer tax ($200). From Ohio, you could buy it directly from Arizona and only pay one transfer, instead of having the Arizona seller transfer it to an Ohio dealer, and then the Ohio dealer transfers it to you ($200 + $200). This also works for an old Garrand, 1903A3 rifle, carbine, 98K, Luger and anything else on the C&R list, which is available for download at

In short, get a C&R license and save yourself money on out of state transfers, and save trouble on buying C&R class guns from out of state too. Having a C&R license also helps things move along quicker on a transfer, because they already have your background information on record, and they can proceed with the transfer with the preliminaries already being completed at the start.

I'm up for renewing my C&R...best $30 bucks I've spent...as jBaum stated with easing transferes...you also are able to get dealer catalogs and can use that as a bargining chip on getting deals on non-C&R items as well!

Wow, it looks like getting a C&R licence would be a good thing. Right now i only have a TNW MG34 semi, and am collecting accessories, and books. But I would really like a real one.
Thanks for the help all.
