Some of you no me as IRON WORKER over on the Weapons Guild, for some reason my name would'nt take here. For over a year I've been fabricating a scratch build M53 rear receiver as well as all the other parts needed for a semi build.
Finaly got it finished and ready test fire just waiting on belts
The receiver was made from .120'' thick sqaure tubing and plate steel, duplicating everthing I possibly could to match the original look.I had a good shroud with complete camming area so that helped .It sports dual rear bolt blockers and all bolt and FCG work done by me based on the common designs available.
I've got BRP'S firingpin/spring and feedstud assembly as well as their recoil spring, and I used RTG'S ratchet plate.AR-15 FCG componants with Wolf's heavy main spring.
I followed your build on weapons guild and amazed how
well your receiver turned out.I also did my own bolt
work and used brp firing pin and recoil spring.Hope the
test fire goes smoothly.
Thanks for the comments, I spent countless hours studying all the known drawings and many close up photos to make this rear receiver. The actual fabricating part I had roughly 20 hours in give or take, but now that all the figuring part is over making anouther would be a lot simpler.
Hello, I have been looking for a full set of blueprints of the MG42 with very little luck. Can someone email them to me at engineer139@yahoo.com I have blueprints to the M2HB, MK64 Mount, T&E mechanism and Ammo Can if you would like to trade.
One of the greatest things about this build is the straight lines and attention to detail. If you thought MG42s were sexy already this thing just blows em out of the water. Great build. God I wish I had the patience
