Barrel Bushing

Post by GMONEY »

Morning
Does anyone have any info on the barrel bushing below. I think it may be a Wiselite. It was purchased from RTG About two months ago. I opened it looked it over quickly and put it away . After removing the Old bushing the other day I realized it was not the same as the one he advertised on his site. I,ve made a number of purchases from him and all were on the money. If anyone could give me some info on install I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks !

And your receiver has a nice "circumcision". I think that they sent you the wrong one. Get the correct bushing from Robert. Just make a C-shaped "door" in the front, drop the bushing in, clamp with hose clamps, and weld the door shut. Voila!....Phil

Thats the original style barrel bushing which is made to be swaged inside the shroud sheetmetal. You can make the missing sheetmetal by turning a bushing that matches the profile and split it in half to make the overlay .Then simply weld it all together.

Wiselite bushing had the larger o.d. to give the same dimesional appearance as the sheet metal shroud after welding.

This is the overlay bushing I made ,just a lathe turned bushing made to match profile and split .

Nice machine work metalsmithy- wish I could make items like that! Gmoney, is your bushing "broached" with the grooves for the barrel bushing? It is an unusual profile OD. Here is a Wiselite bushing for sale on GB. They were hard to get from them when they were in business.....Phil
