Doubled the size of my German MG08 Optics collection!

Post by IMBLITZVT »

I have picked up several rare versions of MG08 optics lately. Including one that I have never seen before. I think I only need one different version at this point. There are a ton of variations on the more standard versions of the ZFs but I will be happy with one of each kind and maybe pick the others up as I can find them cheap.

Other Models! :puk:

I knew I needed one... which others am I missing? Any pictures?

I thought I would just need to start upgrading them at this point. I am not real worried about getting them all in great shape but I would like to have an example of each. They are a bit expensive...

A can of worms...... just when you thought the wallet was safe! ---bil PS-your collection has really gotten great since way back when I got my '15 from you.Congrats! I have been looking into a replica Fokker D VII,that would mean I would have to get into WW I guns. S.E.5a is another choice. But I would have to sell some of the Oldsmobiles! :( ---bil

It would be good to know the definitive list of WWI MG Optics, reflecting all the variations and any post WWI models. This would certainly help collectors.
Nice pieces Matt. I am told various sights were fitted to Zeppelin mounted MGs.
Seeking all items, large or small, to the Imperial MG08, MG08/15 & T Gewehr.

Wrong! in the zeppelins, the MG used was the naval MG 08; of course because the soldiers using zeppelins were naval soldiers!

So they fitted the naval scope on their naval's machine guns.

Naval MG 08 with naval markings:

This scope was used on zeppelin but also on boats and ground......for the moment i never see a picture with a "standart" ZF 12 on a zeppelin!
