Commercial 8mm in wiselite m53

I know it says dont use it, but anyone know why? Cant you get commercial 8mm thats not magnum loads, and use it in it without any differences over rommy or yugo ammo (less hard primers)?

It's all very simple.......

The Wiselite-guns (as most Military guns are) set up using military-grade ammunition.
Military ammunition is loaded with a specific type/shape/weight projectile....and is loaded to have that same weight projectile move at a specific speed in "fps" (which requires a specific loading/amount of powder).
The "duration" and "pressure-requirements" to operate that "system" require changes to Booster-Cup/"Nozzle" hole-size if you change loadings.....simpel.....huh ??

With that said......you should have no problem if you use "like" civilian ammunition with same "loading"......with one exception that you should look into.
Someting called "slam-firing"..........do a search on the web and then review "wiselite's" SA42 Bolt/firng-system to insure that you do not need hard-primered ammunition.

A lot of these SA42 are "hand-made" one-at-a-time with the above military-grade ammunition in mind.......slight changes cause feeding-issues that wiselite will not correct because "you used different ammo" and it is not wiselite's "headache" to have the gun fire everything feed into it.

Cause even though its legal to ship ammo to a ltc holder here if they send a signed copy of their ltc with their drivers license, no one is willing to ship ammo to MA. And all the stores never have any as when ever they do, its gone in a matter of mins. Even stores over the border are always out, as people from here, go there. quite frustrating actually.

So am looking for something that can work till I can find a supplier of rommy 8mm.

And before someone says *move* I cant yet due to financial reasons, but plan is to head back to PA or VA asap.

Another issue I may be forced to sell it soon, as my transmission needs to be rebuilt, wifey is on ass to go on vacation, sucks making 3 trips to the car to load and unload the thing, and ammo shortage is making it a virtual doorstop.

....."unless" you want to add in more "challanges" as we try to help you. (Ya' could put down all of the "challanges" at one time for us to weed-through.....adding them in later only prolongs the end-answer that you probably already know.).

If they won't ship you the ammo........either go through a licensed FFL, or Class-III Dealer, Class-III Manufacturer, or "retail-outlet" for your ammunition (they get it shipped to them for "re-sale".) and pay the higher prices.......................your other option is to drive to a Gun-Show or place that sells ammunition out of state and purchase your ammunition there. Can't buy a firearm out-of-state.......but ammunition usually only requires you to prove you are over 21.....under 21 has other challanges.

One "challange" that you will have to over-come (if your wife decides you have to sell that gun) is to try to get your money that you invested in it...out of it in this economical-market. It will usually sit for some time on the guns advertized at prices for people to "look-at".....or lower-the-price for people to "think about buying".........or the even lower-price where people "won't take long to buy it"........or last (did I say "Fire-Sale") where it seems like a really low/good price for the "buyers" to get it now...(??).

I am in MA as well. There are a few shops that may be able to order the Romanian 8mm for you however even they can not get it from AIM surplus since they do not ship to anyone (including FFLs) in MA. I know that America's Armed in Milford had a supply of Yugo 8mm about 6 months back. I was also able to find a few hundred rounds of Romanian at the Marlboro gunshow (The guys from New York that are always there). There's a show in Wilmington and Springfield coming up that they may be at. Best bet is to find a relative/friend in RI or NH that would be willing to order and take delivery for you. At that point buy it in bulk. If you live behind the Iron Curtain you have to be able to scrounge a little.

Another problem with commercial ammo may be the tips.I know in some of the subguns,there can be feed problems due to a differant tip profile,or softer top than the military.If you ever find a deal on ammo,like some of the 8MM that shows up in AZ,let me know,maybe we can figure something out.I am in NH most of the time (OK,some of the time) near Keene. ---bil No help on the wife/vacation part,mine is someone elses problem,and I take the vacations.

Soft tip bullets often get their noses bent when feeding. Sort of like Bil after I burn him publicly. Also the commercial primers are frequently softer and easier to ignite that military primers, which may cause slam fires which can blow you and your gun up.
