The hopper goes in first on its side, the handle inside the hopper, the clamp on its side and then the loader slides in on top of them. - Matt

i dont have my loader handy otherwise i would post a pic. the clamp should be on its side with the screw non adjusting screw end at the end of the can. the hopper should have the hopper end towards the other end of the can. place the handle inside the hopper. the loader should then go in, i do remember than on mine you have to have the "top cover" part that closes on top of the belt open for the lid to shut. -matt

Well Iam getting close but even with the belt mechanism folded over its still to high the bar that the belt mech locks into is high and hitting the lid I could probably force it to close but Iam not going to do that. I will either get it to fit or put it in a fifty cal can thanks for all your help I will mess with it tomorrow and even try another can.

There is a nice picture of how it all fits in the ammo box in the mg34/ mg42 book, Also jbraum's manuals have it also I believe.
I'll try to put my new 8mm into a box tonight and take pics as I do and try to post this week.

I did get my 308 loader back into the box it came in, and from what I remember, next time it comes out it will be to load ammo..

Good Luck

Hi there, this is the first time I have posted on here so hello to you all.I normally hang out on the WAF forum but call in here for all the mg related info. I have recently restored my mg 42 lafette and will post some pics on here soon. I now have the mg34 lafette to repaint but I need to sort out the canvas backpads first. I have (at least I hope it shows up)a picture of my 7.92 belt loader in its can, these will only fit in a certain way round as shown in my photo.Regards David.

Was it in the can, with the cover closed, when you got it? Or do you have the wrong can? :? ---bil

Ok, a few posts ago I said that I would try to put mine in the can (that sounds funny) and take photos while doing it ( that really sounds funny).. Well did a dry run (no camera).. Found the following after I got the mg34/42 book out and double checked the diagram...
1st try Well could not get the bottom two pieces to fit.... Its seems that they are about 3mm to big.. Thought about cutting, no thats not right... Ok, try putting in different parts out of order, lets see without hopper I can put the rest inside and close the lid and it fits... Ok..

Now thinking about it I look at other ammo cans that I have... Some are longer than others by about 5 mm, ok, lets try again..

2nd try Ok, put the hopper and other piece in the bottom and they FIT!! ok, some boxes are longer and now it fits.. Alright lets put the rest of the parts in and close the lid... Right, ok,, wrong... Now the parts are in the box but this lid contour does NOT fit the parts layout... Try again and again.. Well long story the lid only sticks up about 1/2 inch.....

3rd try AS soon as I find a different box I'll try again....... I only have about 5 or 6 8mm boxes and one loader and they don't work together..

Lets see Yugo loader Yugo box or German loader and Yugo box Something should fit.... But mine don't......
Good Luck everybody on this one....
