The letter { K } on tne range dial

Over the past few months we have obtained a few of the { ZF12 } Optic Sights for the MG-08. Some of them have the letter K engraved on the range dial. Does anyone know if this is a unit marking ? Cobra

Hallo,

the Letter "K" is a Proof-Marking,
most optic item, and every Binoculars from the WW1 era (DF 03, DF 08)
is marked with K.

Many thanks for the update on the letter { K }. We have gone through a few books on the scope but no one has ever mentioned the reason for the script K . We appreciate the answere. Cobra

Does the absence of the K mean then a post WWI production? Again just a small point of detail but interesting nonetheless.
By the way sorry for absence as I have had to pop over to the 'East' again!!!
