Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
Anyone want to have a go at this sucker!?
This very same optic (same serial number and accessories), I have the pictures to prove it!
Sold on this forum, lost in transport, reclaimed, but I lost several hundred dollars on it! Now for sale in Alabama.

Any hints of how to bring this sucker to trial?

Call ebay and report this. Then call the Al AG, State Police, Craine Hill police, etc. Act fast! Then call the newspaper, TV in crane hill now ! Give them an easy story to report. Make noise!

You ought to email him and ask if you can pay in cash and pick it up in person. Then, drive down there and kick his butt and get your scope back.

Explain how it was "lost in transport" and then reclaimed. I don't remember your story sorry.bergflak wrote:Anyone want to have a go at this sucker!?

Look through his 'positive' comments-all recent, and if you look at the times sent, many were sent within minutes of each other! Definately call the authorities. If it sells, contact the buyer,he should have the sellers info,so should e-bay.Good luck, and keep us posted! ---bil

If you post the feedbacks from the "My Ebay" menu, multiple feedbacks get posted at the same time.Bil wrote:Look through his 'positive' comments-all recent, and if you look at the times sent, many were sent within minutes of each other! ---bil

Oh.... I still have a hard time figuring out my password-I was going to ask the guy some telling questions.Hopefully we find out who the actual scumball is that keeps causing these problems.Having done business with bergflak,I would believe his side 100%.Anyone that gets sent cash to Norway and keeps his end of the deal is a-OK in my book.Reputation is key in the world,no matter what some people think. ---bil

BIL, i see what your taking about-- in his (revision summary), he made those adjustments himself. good eye noticing that. he was putting more cheese on an already set trap.
Re: Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
I see the auction ended without the reserve being met.
How is the investigation going?
Funny how reading the comments that he recieved, 'updated' information what the item he was selling really was.
Would be interesting if Ryan was the innocent victim all along and some rogue delivery guy was making extra cash stealing packages.
If this is the case, then I hope you can bring down whatever wrath you can muster.
I had a postman cut packages open and was nosing through my stuff and outright theft of items.
I should have contacted the postmaster...I should have, I should have.
I was trying to be nice...my mistake!

Re: Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
Never be that nice-he was stealing from you! Be nice to old drunks or random people you meet, not someone that is stealing from you. That only allows them to continue on their same path.I believe in enlightening those on the wrong path through life, and encouraging them to forgo their mistaken ways. But I am certainly not nice about it.You only have a certain amount of nice in you,use it unwisely and it gets replaced by regret. How's that for a philosophy!
---bil
PS-I try to be nice to everyone at least once, after that it is up to them.I hope someone finds out what is going on with the optics here.E-bay should be concerned that stolen items are being sold on their site. And this from a site that won't allow anything gun-related.Stolen=OK legal-bad

Re: Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
Well, fascinating enough, this seller specializes in pink handbags, "FLORAL HEART SHAPED KISSING BALL" and "ANGEL AND HARP ORNAMENT GOLD TRIM". But at the same time knows enough about MG accessories to put a reserve on this lot of $ 2000,-. Yet do not know what he/she is selling.....I have a hard time buying that!
This seller has access to hardcore collector info!
Ebay will not care less. "Contact your local law enforcement agent".
Well, I will. I am pritty sure that mail theft is punishable.....

Re: Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
Bergflak, you say, you have a hard time buy that. Well, yesterday i contacted the seller via E-bay. I told him i was a collector of Dienstglas optics, and if he could ,to the best of his knowledge, tell me more about the scope. Sure enough he was glad to sale me his story. He bought it on an auction, did'nt know what it was, but knew it was something. He did reseach and found out it was an mg34 lafette scope. And still he listed it as a mortor scope knowing what is was---?????? Con-man-- I wonder what kind of story he's going to tell the cops, that he thought it was a camera.
Re: Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
So e-bay condones the sale of stolen property? Although e-bay is hated throughout the gun world for its anti-gun stance, maybe we should be telling other sites and the net in general, about this.If they don't mind things being fenced through them,it could become a new source of revenue.'For sale-2009 Hummer-low miles, screwdriver start,no title-no questions asked.$5,000.' As I see it ,they are facilitating the sale of stolen property, you have reported it as stolen to the authorities, you told them it was stolen, you have the proof, now either they get their a$$ in gear and co-operate,providing you with name, address, and bank info, they should be charged with accessory after the fact. The problem is that you are far away, the good part is that the net puts you in their back door. Good luck. ---bil

Re: Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
I posted a link to this on Weapons Guild.Another thought-are these the exact same pictures you used? Is it possible that the dirtbag just downloaded your pics and doesn't really have the optics, like those prison scams? E-bag should be able to tell where the e-mails are going to.Just an idea.Dirtbags. ---bil

Re: Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
Nope, they are in possesion of the real item. No doubt about that. I told seller the whole story, and he just replied that he would "help me regain it" He could put a "Buy It Now" for me so that I could pay him, but I would have to go over $ 2800,- .........
Nice chap!

Re: Stolen MGZ40 (from me!) Now offered on ebay!!
To clarify the situation. I bought the MGZ40 shown in the link above and several other accessories from Reidar through this forum. I paid 2600 to Reidar's friend and the balance, about 700, to Reidar direct. The scope never arrived. After three months, I filed through paypal under their buyer protection (which come to find out, is not insurance, but only the right of paypal to legally steal the money from the seller). Paypal sent me 700 from Reidar and Reidar sent another 400 or so that was paid by the Norwegian Post Office under the insurance. Reidar lost 700, I lost a great deal more, about 2200 on this deal. Now the scope shows up in the USA and on ebay.
Well, I am not screwing around. I am calling the Post Office Inspector General then the FBI's mail fraud office on Monday morning. I already call his local Sheriff. I was shocked when Reidar emailed me this morning to tell me the scope had resurfaced. The sellers other auctions show no sign of the other MGZ items that were in the package along with a few other items. It is possible he bought it at a Post Office auction for unclaimed items as he is not too for from the Atlanta Mail Recovery Center, his address is listed as Northern Alabama. I would really like to know how he acquired it. This scope, along with a lot of registered letters, were lost in 2009 after the Post Office stopped handling foreign registered as a budget cut. Theft is rampant in the incoming mail sorting centers that handle foreign mail. The inspector general in Helena flat out admitted the problem but there was little that could be done. I sent a certified letter to the Post Office Mail Recovery Center in Atlanta in March '09 and followed up on the certified letter in August, the post office has no record of the letter being accepted at the Mail Recovery System in Atlanta. Absolutely maddening.
