charging handle questions...please help!

Post by redrivertactical »

ok guys i got this baby working...but i have one question. Should the charging handle tab be making a line in the ratchet plate along where it travels back and forth? It appears that it is gouging the bluing off the ratchet plate. Is this the way it should be? I suppose i could take a few hundredths off the tab and it wouldnt touch the ratchet plate at all but im unsure if it is supposed to touch it or not. Thanks for the help.

It's a piece of MILITARY HARDWARE, not a Barbie doll, guys... It's meant to be used in harsh environments. That means scuffs, scratches, dents and scrapes. That's what cold blue is for. Alternative: Ever heard of the term "safe queen"? None of my guns fit that definition.
