Yes, that's the summer green HBT uniform. Inexpensive and cool for conquering the world in summer weather. It wears fine. Very good for the price.

Re: MG-42 sa in action

Fritz;
The 42 sa's do well in re-enactment battles; My 42's whole purpose is to drill the Russian trenches, on the Eastern front of the Marion, Ky area!
This week-end, at Ft.Campbell, there is a large battle event; We are using the largest training town which will be St.Lo in Normandy! The Tiger I will be there, facing a list of US Armor!.http://www.wwiibattle.org

There are bound to be a number of mg-42 sa's.....

This is likely a dumb question but do any of you guys involved in the larger reenactor groups have outreach programs with studios that do filming for things like History Channel documentaries?

I am always curious where they get their reenactors for some of those productions as some seem quite professional and others very weak (mainly the older ones form the 90s).

Good question;
Most re-enactment units love the publicity, in order to help in recruitment of their ranks.........other than that, there is little advantage in doing something for the history channel.....:(...They do not pay for your ammo/blanks, & fuel in the vehicles. little in the way of paying for travel, etc.......
*** The worst is, if they are invitied to a closed event battle, in order to film it, they are not happy with just being allowed to be in uniform, be in the midst of the battle-field and film.....!....They want re-runs done, and that is just impossible, because it interfers with the tactical action!....So therefore, many units, just decline.
Last year, the history field team wanted to go to our trenches of the Russian Front, out at Marion , Ky....After many phone calls between the unit commanders ,and many others, it was decided to not let them out there. > Primary reason being they would get in the way for the above reasons, and would not be content with just capturing the 'action', and therefore missed shots like below..... :lol:

That clears up a lot, and explains why The History Channel and its related A&E channels sometimes have really cheezy scenes with guys that must be more interested in being actors than reenactors.

By the way great pics guys.

looking forward to seeing it! where did you get it from? Also, where did you get your boots?

I wish they would put a reenacting forum here to discuss kit, but that got shot down. :(

ya a gemran equipment/uniform section at least would be nice. the uniform in comming from ANT-z who is supposed to be the best uniform guy in asia. so we shall see what i looks like when it comes but i have seen lots of good reviews so far. the gear i purchased off a guy i know who is getting out of reenacting, so i bought everything from him for $150, Shovel, flashlight, bread bag, y straps, gas mask and canister, spanish helmet, etc. the boots i got awhile back from a place up in canada, cant think of there name right now but there well known.

Buying used gear from a guy who's getting out makes it easier to gear up. You could save about 20%.
