BRP Reciever
BRP Reciever
Dose BRP realy have rear receiver sections for $375 or am i seeing things on thier website with wishfull thinking? Has anybody else noticed this? This looks like an atractive alternative to Wiselites $800 price tag. Any comments??
Re: BRP Reciever
wiselite is sold out and might be indefenatly of their 100% receivers. so the only option right now is the 350-375$ halves that require considerably more work to get running.
personally, i would have preferred to get 2 100%'s instead a 100% and 80%(2 halves)
its so easy to build off of the WLA 100%

OH so new to all of this! Who is and where is the site for BRP?

Re: BRP Reciever
Never mind I found the site. Tried to call they close @ 4pm est.
Re: BRP Reciever
800$ price tag but do you have the following on hand?
-mill
-lathe
-Layout tools
-Another 375 if you scrap the first one
-Drill bits, endmills, ect.
-Machining Skills
on top of the other stuff you will need anyway, welder, grinder, air compressor, ect.
I think the WiseLite is a better choice if you just don't have these things. I guess we don't have a choice now that WiseLite is sold out.

Re: BRP Reciever
Ahhh... I see thats where the price difference comes into play the work involved. I assume when you say wiselite 100% receiver you are still only taling about the rear section that is 100% complete?? Jutst to verify the BRP quality is still good-excellent??
Re: BRP Reciever
BRP "halves" are just hat 2 rear half stampings - they have 0 machining done to them and require alot of trimming before you even weld them together to start machining. Do they work - yep, I have used them myself - but be prepared to do alot of work with them.
WLA's rear section is FFL and ready to weld onto your front section, plug and play so to speak.
Is it worth 425 bucks more - sure, I think it is, if you have that kind of cash to spend - me, I had to beg borow and steal to get up the 375.......... so thats what I have used on 2 builds so far.

Re: BRP Reciever
if the thread starter needs a set of these halves at a good price he just needs to PM me... just happen to know where a set is for a much better price....
say what you mean & mean what you say
Re: BRP Reciever
While I didn't start the thread I am interested in another set of BRP/BRP clone rear sections as I still have 2 builds to do.
Let me know here or over on Weapons Guild.
Thanks,
Terry

How have people dealt with installing the buffer tabs and getting those fit right?
