MG3/MG42 Mount
I surprised myself a little with finding these..... I've managed to buy 4 more MG3 mounts, like I had for sale before. They're on the way from German and should be in by Aug. 1. If anyone wants one, let me know.
I'm sure the guys who already have one can tell you what a great piece of hardware this is.
MG42/MG3 Mount - This mount is quite a piece of hardware. It is German manufactured for the vehicle ring mount and is made of very heavy steel. It has a recoil absorbing double spring mechanism built into it, which twists to allow the gun to be level side-to-side while in the mount. It also has a hinged yoke for up and down, and the large swivel pin on the bottom allows traversing. The swivel pin on the bottom has a diameter of 0.87" or about 7/8", and is 2-15/16" long). The curved part on the left in the last picture is a shell deflector that aligns under the ejection port when the gun is mounted. It has a lever on the bottom to allow the gun to be securely mounted - press the lever to install the gun, release it to hold the gun in place. Paint is olive drab, weight is 8 lbs, overall length is about 15". This is original German army military surplus. There's even a grease fitting on the bottom for lubricating the recoil absorber. This will fit in the bigger priority mail flat rate box.
That's a piece of tape on the shaft for protection during shipping.
$150 + $10 priority mail postage for US addresses.

Boys:
This is a fine mount, it clips right where the back bipod mount is....if you haven't got a ring for it, make a pedestal and bolt it to the floor of your convertable...Bil?
That's what I'm figuring on doing to the VW Thing that I haven't got yet

Mike is right-these are real neat.I mounted it on the windshield header, where the rear view morror was.Never look back-those flashing light are still there!
I was surprised to see that John had gotten more of these-I was hoping they would skyrocket in value, and I could send my grandson to college. These are a good item, with a lot of uses.

Re: MG3/MG42 Mount
I'll have to say I've amazed myself with this deal..... I was complaining to another guy in Germany that the guys here really liked these mounts, but I couldn't find them.... He and I have made a deal to say the least. The guy has a stack of them, and he said he'd sell them to me as long as he still had some. I have 4 more on the way. I'm going to get them 4 at a time for as long as I can sell them and he still has some. If he runs out, or nobody wants any, that'll be the end of it. I'm not going to wrap up a few thousand bucks just to have a bunch of them sitting here with nobody to sell them to.
SO,,,,,, if anyone wants one or more, now's the time.

Re: MG3/MG42 Mount
OK DI.... I'll let you know when the second batch arrives. It should be in about 10 days.
That leaves two still coming without a home.

Will do as soon as I get them. They're on the way from Germany. The first 4 are of course already spoken for, but the second batch should arrive about 5 days after the first batch, so I figure around the end of the first week of August.
That leaves one left out of the last batch I have ordered.
Thanks,

Re: MG3/MG42 Mount
Here's a non-update on the mounts: They've been shipped, but I haven't seen any of them yet.
I'm hopeful they'll arrive soon, but all I know is that they're on the way.

Re: MG3/MG42 Mount
Well, I was starting to worry they wouldn't come in, but the first box with 4 mounts for the MG3 came in this morning.
The first 4 buyers have been sent messages.
Drooling Idiot is in slot number 5
Smoking Gun is in slot number 6
MikeinMN is in slot number 7
and Sevo is in slot number 8
The second box of 4 was supposed to be sent out a few days after the first box, so I'm guessing the second box will arrive within the next 5 days (considering the weekend).
Messages will go out as soon as they're here. Glad I didn't hold my breath waiting for them.
Thanks,

Re: MG3/MG42 Mount
good news/bad news... the second box of four mounts came in today, beat up and missing one mount that likely went out through the hole in the end of the box. I had miscounted the order numbers since one person eventually said they wanted one under their username here and their email address to me. I didn't put it together that it was the same person till after the first batch of 4 came in. So, we're on numbers 6-8 with these three mounts.
To try to be fair, I'm going with one per person, and if I manage to get another box of them (I'm trying), I'll fill that last request for a second mount, and maybe have one or two left over to sell.
