Try a .375 cal. brush. Soak the bore in Kroil overnight and then scrub the hell out of it. Then use some JB Bore Compound on the bore. Many times a cruddy bore will clean up pretty good. The barrel I got with my Yugo kit was in terrible shape but cleaned up with a good application of elbow grease. That and then shooting a bunch of ammo through it. It'll do til I can find a better 8mm barrel. You can also use some Sweet's on it. But use a nylon bore brush not copper. That should dissolve the copper fouling.bolex wrote:I need to get an 8mm brush to clean my centerfire barrel bore, the 30 cal isn't cutting it and I have no idea where the 9mm walked off to. The outside of the barrel is clean and it looks like the bore will clean up when I get the stuff out of the lands. Much better looking than the MGS barrel I got in April/May time frame.

Some have posted good results with using oven cleaner on dirty bores. Yes, I know!!! Plug the end and let it penetrate, then scrub it like normal. Supposedly works as good as the electrolisys method.

Oven cleaner worked great on mine. And, you know where the directions warn us to wear gloves? Heed the advice. I won't tell you how I learned the wisdom of this admonition .hcpookie wrote:Some have posted good results with using oven cleaner on dirty bores. Yes, I know!!!
