Who's going to Knob creek?

Just about anything goes but no MG42 or MG34 talk.

Table C17, from Friday about noon till Saturday at closing. I'll be wearing my gawd awful pink ball cap. It's the only one at Knob Creek, so if you see a pink hat, it's me.

I can't make it to the Creek, but got there last Oct for the first time ever. While the firing line was crazy, I spent all of my time in the pole barn with the vendors. I worked for a Class 3 MFG for years, and attended lots of smaller shoots, so a lot of the shine was off of the apple for me as far as machine gun madness goes!

I love MGs, but would rather watch one old Maxim chug along, than 40 beltfeds tearing up the earth. For me the fun is the history and engineering in a weapon, not mass consumption of ammo (please don't hate me guys).

The vendors, with all that great guns stuff, is the thing that makes me want to go back.

I bet the biggest source of conversation will be the great ammo draught of 2007. With the way they go thru it there, and the current prices, the dollars will really fly now!

You know, after I went last year, it occured to me that the members of various gun boards should all wear name tags with user IDs on them. I bet I walked by dozens of people I know from the boards and never knew it.
When in worry, when in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout!

I agree with everything you said, msg1956. The history aspect is my biggest draw. If all I wanted to do was blast stuff and use up ammo, I'd grab an AK-47. But, the guns we collect here are chock full of history, and it's as much fun to share them with fellow history buffs as it is to shoot them.

I'll be there Friday and Saturday for sure and maybe Sunday. I'll have some Vickers semi conversion parts sets at a special KC price and the Vickers, Maxim, and the PPsH 41 for folks to look over. Cell phone works sometime there, # is 513 417 2412, also, I'll be at the fork in the road behind the pole barn going to the lower range at 12:00 where the 1919 guys meet both days. Hope to see some of you guys there. Lon

We will be at Knob Creek.
Hope to show off some of the Class III firearms that we build.
We might sell some take-off parts and some of the pieces that we build. Not sure of the packing list yet.

I would like to go but at 13 mpg it would cost me too much to drive there from Cleveland. 85 Buick wagon that is a dog.

Hey! Anyone local want to go on a road trip??? I will spring for my share of the gas money.
Saturday would be best.

If you guys are going from Cleveland, I'd suggest leaving about 2am. That'll put you there about when the firing line starts up in the morning. Book a room for Saturday night in Louisville. If you book it now, no problem. Then drive home Sunday. You'll want to stay for the night shoot on Saturday, which runs late, and after being there all day you won't have the energy to drive the 7 hours home.

Possibly Friday and Saturday, depending on work. I don't plan my wardrobe far enough in advance to tell you what I might be wearing, but I can safely say that I won't be wearing a pink hat. I'll also be leaving the fuzzy slippers at home.
