It's almost a crime that the Sdkfz 232 is only 3/4 scale. Makes one wonder why the builder didn't make it full scale. A full scale Sdkfz 232 is the ONE ARMOURED CAR BUILD that truly inspires me.

DA-What aboutthe SD.Kfz 263 [6rad],that would be real nice.I think the easiest and most versitile one would be the 221/222/223. 4 wheels,easy ,flat angled sides,and you could build one basic structure,and have 3 varients with a little switching of turrets! ---bil

I think that 8 rad is a 7/8ths scale. It's built by M Scholer in Cali. He built 8 of them. According to him:

I am working on 222 4 wheel drive with diesel engines , next the PZII and later the Marder II .

Check out Ebay item number 250092650980 to see another of his 8Rad's for sale. This time Joe Fazio is selling it off to make room for some new unspecified WWII purchases.

I fell in love with the eight wheeled Sdkfz 232 a long time ago. Yes, it's very rare and not well armoured, but it looks cool.

Bil -- You're getting ideas, aren't you? Now what do you think the UPS guy will think when he sees an armored vehicle sitting in your living room? Then again, Spongebob DOES need some wheels!

Very nice pics-I can't get enough.Are the bikes real 'r75s' ,or the chinese/whatever type? They look good.GDM,don't laugh,I have already started to amass parts for a 221/222/223. Based on a chevy 4 wd,6 cly.Front and rear swapped,so engine/drive train is in rear,with steering in front,light gauge steel body,still getting measurements together.Josh,I would like to see any pics of your project,if possible. ---bil

You guys in the East seem to have an abundance of armored vehicles and tanks. Looks like fantastic fun.

We had a great time and decent turnout in the Wephaus-sponsored Granada, Mississippi event this weekend. The weather was great -- if a bit warm for this time of year. The Granada Lake park is near ideal for reenactments, and the locals and park officials are just great. A few pics to follow:

The first photo is of me doing what I spent most of my time doing: sitting on my ass and nursing a monstrous blister on my right heel.

The second is our glorious obergefreiter trying to pull himself out of the ONLY wet spot in the entire drought-sticken park

How did he manage to find it?
