We also had an SS unit that showed up. These guys work really hard on their impression, and are a cohesive group that works well together.

Even though there weren't many Russians, the guys had the look down. Especially the twelve-year-old! Doesn't he look just like you'd expect a Ruskie kid to look? We had a really hard time "killing" him, though. He just didn't like to die. We'd fill him full of lead with two or three K98s blazing away at him and he'd just run away to set up another ambush! But he was a real kick.

The next pic is of my best friend as he tries out the panzershrek that he built. We kept setting the woods on fire, so we had to retire the 'shrek after just a few shots, but at least my friend got a good idea about the things he needs to modify before the next trials.

The second pic is of my best friend, Tommie, getting ready to hunt down a Russian sniper that kept knocking us out. The "sniper" was the real deal. He currently works for Smith and Wesson as a police trainer or some such, but used to work for the UN in Serbia. This fellow dressed as a partisan sniper and really played havoc with the Germans. He concealed himself so well in the underbrush that he would literally pick off four of us before we could locate him.

Hi Schneider!

I want to come and reenact with you! Great photos. I would love to hear more of your reenacting experiences in the Ukraine, and I'm sure other members here would, too.

For instance:
1. Do you receive any "resistance" or interference from your local government when it comes to portraying Germans?
2. Which weapons are you allowed to own? Full auto? Semi? Deact?
3. Where do you obtain your weapons, tanks, artillery, etc.?
4. I've run across a couple of web sites maintained by Ukrainians who log their experiences in relic hunting, etc.. Are you allowed to keep everything you uncover as relics in the Ukraine?
5. When you reenact, do you have audiences who watch your battles?
6. Is there any interest in the battles of WWII in the youth of the Ukraine? Do you have very many young men who participate in your reenacting?
7. Do you reenact any battles on the sites where the real battles took place?
8. Many of us dream of touring the Ukraine with knowledgeable residents of the country, and avoiding the usual tourist tours. Does your group ever host such events?

Many, many more questions come to mind, but I'll restrain my curiosity for now. It's great to hear from you and great to veiw your pictures. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Nice guns. I also reenact with a unit out of Virginia. 1ST SS LAH.

I just began my journey to obtain my own MG 34 Parts Kit and try to one day have a semi auto gun for live fire and reenactments.

Gorgeous pics, gpp111 :D

Did you take them yourself? What kind of camera were you using and at what resolution?

Would love to see more pics.

Here is another one. Just a regular digital camera, 7 megapixel.

There was snow on the lense, so it created a dreamy scene.

For more reenactment photos see my website, http://www.sdkfz251.com lots of reenactment photos on page 5 and 6.
