Still Waiting!!

Post by Gorbachov »

I'm curious...I placed my order with Sarco on January 22 and was told they were out of stock but would have some shortly and should have mine shipped within a few weeks. I've still not seen it and have called several times to see if it has shipped and get a similar response...should be a few weeks. It’s almost a month now and I'm wondering if anybody is experiencing the same thing, or has anybody received theirs that ordered after I did?

Thanks,

Gorbachov

I ordered my kits from Sarco around Jan 19th. Originally told that it would be a two week delivery. Last week got a message from MGDave at Sarco that the next batch of kits is at their importer being "processed." He said that all orders would ship in order as soon as the kits arrive at Sarco. But, he admitted that he didn't have any solid time frame for getting the kits. Basically told me to be patient and they will ship when they ship.

Story's the same at CFS. I've been waiting on another kit and some missing parts from my last shipment for a while now. They're saying exactly the same thing as Sarco -- orders have been placed and promised by the distributor, but delivery times have come and gone. They are being told that the ordered kits will be delivered, however.

I talked with CFS last week and they told me that the kits were not cut to the ATF's satification and that they all had to be recut.

Uh-oh! I hate to think of what that might mean. I hope they don't end up a bigger mess than they already were!

Hey I'll take destroyed Barrels if they supply cut receivers with them it sucks but its a trade off check out what some criminals are asking for receiver sections nowa days its a crime and they know it wish the supplyers would release there receivers and put a stop to this crap / Price gouging.

I don't think the new kits include all the receiver parts based on Centerfire's description and picture on the web. Maybe that's the problem ... they didn't remove enough parts.

From what I've read anything imported from the evil import list( isn't mg42 on it ?)with a barrel has to have the barrrel demilled isn't that why the Galil kits come with a new US barrel? if Sarco is telling the truth and they weren't demilled enough i wouldn't count on a usable barrel.

Supposedly Sarco's import permit for the M53 kits was under the old rules so the barrels were allowed. Don't count on that for any new parts sets coming in though.

I just got a message from MGDave at Sarco that the M53 kits have arrived at Sarco. He says that they will start filling orders, and that he has
more kits than he has orders, so everyone's orders will ship. I assume that they will be filling the order in the order of the date the order was placed.

My Sarco MG 53 Kit Arrived!!!

Post by Gorbachov »

I finally got my MG53 kit from Sarco yesterday on the order I placed January 22. Unlike some folks, mine came very well packaged with peanuts in a new box that arrived in great shape.

The only issue with the packaging is the barrel and receiver was not in a plastic bag like the rest of the parts. The cosmoline is so thick; the petroleum in it melted the peanuts to the parts.

It’s a gooey mess but will clean up fine once I remove the cosmoline. Any suggestions for removing it? I was thinking of soaking the parts in kerosene using a tray for wetting wall paper.

I haven't had a chance to inventory the parts but will this weekend once I get the mess cleaned up. I'm hoping the armorers manual I ordered comes today to help identify everything.

Looking down the barrel I see rifling, but the cosmoline coating doesn’t allow me to figure out if I got a good one or not. At least I think that’s cosmoline in there. If not this barrel is toast!

I'll let you know what I find under all that ooze.

The kero idea is good, spray carb cleaner[outside] after for the real bad parts.Put a little oil on after to prevent rust.Sounds like you got a good one, congrats! ---bil
