Yugo Parts Kit

Post by morvedahl »

Got my parts kit a couple of weeks ago and just finaly got around to posting pics. The barrel shrowd has a hole and dent in it that look like they are from bullets. Overall the kit is in good condition. I even got the buffer tabs and the rivet for the cam section. There also is a substantial amount of the cam section included and ironicaly the only salvagable part of the receiver. I was thinking about butting the receiver cam section up for sale if there was any interest. Now to get to building.

I got one from Sarco with a bullet hole right on the front sight. I sent it back to them for another kit but they are now out of them.

If you are building this, why dont you want the cam section? If you decide to sell it,I would be interested. ---bil

This is my second parts kit that I bought for the spare barrle mostly. I dont plan on doing to much with the receiver sections that I have. The other receiver section I have has a good nose to weld in a new barrel nut bushing but no cam section so I would have to cut this cam off welld it to the other and then still weld in the barrel nut and rear receiver section which i do not have. I am planning on seeing what new receivers come out in the hopfully near future. Does it seam like a bad move to geet rid of a good cam section?? Will i ever get one again??

Until you have a working receiver in your hand don't sell anything. You could end up kicking yourself if you sell it before you have a working gun. Thats the sort of "buy high sell low " thing I am good at.

Woah, they're out of M53 kits already?!! Guess it was a good thing I got my two in time.

Longhorn is right-if you are going to build a gun, wait till you are done to dispose of anything that might be handy. There is a reason I wanted the cam section-they can be hard to find. ---bil

How long did you have to wait? Mine was ordered around Jan 30th and they told me it's still on b.o.
I think the bullet holes add character to make it stand out in the crowd. IMO.....
