This looks a little too close to the real deal for me, use caution, it may be a "test" shall we say . I see no blocks welded inside, just a bolt and rails. Just my 2 cents worth. http://cgi.ebay.com/MG42-Full-Replica-D ... dZViewItem

MG42
I saw that auction as well, I asked him in a round about way if the parts were German or Yugo (ebay police)....anyways he replied neither, that they are made up by a company in Texas that does blank guns....
Wish I had saved the email I would have posted it here. Chris....

I also spoke to the guy with the plastic MG42 replica. He says that some company in Texas manufactured 100 "all metal MG42 blank guns" and that he has 75 of them and will be selling them soon.
I wrote back to request more information on these "blank guns". I asked him how they were manufactured in order to get BATFE approval (as it seems that any gun able to automatically fire blanks can also fire real rounds, too -- at least as the feds see it). He never responded.
I wasn't being accusatory or intrusive, I just wanted to know how they got approval for a full auto blank gun. Did they go the SSR route and use a proprietory blank cartridge fired backwards, or what? I'd very much like to know about these blank guns.
Anybody else know what this seller is talking about? He didn't seem to be a scam artist --- he has good ebay feedback.

Plastic eh?, well it fooled me!.I wish he had mentioned plastic in the ad. I saw the pic of the top cover flipped up and it just looked too real. It is better to be a little paranoid, cuz "they" are watching stuff like this. Hey, one of you guys should buy one and let me know if it is worth "me" spending my $$ for it.......if you don't mind
Never give a sucker an even break, unless that sucker can break you in even halves!
I noticed he sold the one I inquired about for well over $200!
Makes me wonder if the buyers are paying close attention to what he says in the auction. Do they really know that they are buying PLASTIC ???
Maybe so. But, for that kind of cash I'll just buy another parts set.
Still interested in seeing the "blank guns" he mentioned, though.
Hmmmmmmmm?

Well I am happy I didn't bid very high on them. I bet the one he has in the ad is a metal dummy. Take a look at the spring and bolt. You can do a lot with plastics but the colors and tones are too good. It will be interesting to see what the feedbacks on the dummies are.
Even the bakelite grips look like they are chipped and worn and the trigger is cupped instead of solid. These are either superb copies or..... well you know.
