Bolt body to bolt head spring tension?
Bolt body to bolt head spring tension?
I'm in the middle of doing my semi bolt and with no internal buffer spring what keeps tension between the front and rear of the bolt?Or is it neccesary? It just falls apart with an easy twist without the spring and the firing pin spring seems too weak to do anything. Won't the bolt head hammer the bolt body in full recoil?

Yup, it's normal and not a problem. The internal spring keeps the bolt from bouncing at high rates of fire (25 shots per second) on the full auto MG, but it's not needed on the semi. The bolt can't come apart inside the gun because it can't twist.
The recoil force pushes against the bolt head, which pushes on the bolt body. They don't have a gap, so the head can't hammer the body. It's just a push. It's hardened anyway, and if it doesn't damage anything in full auto, semi won't hurt it a bit.

early mg42's didn't have the anti-bounce assembly. It was added later to stop the bolt bounce issues. I assume you have a m53 bolt as only the yugo and early german anti bounce assembly keep pressure on the wedge at all time. The later anti bounce assemblys are free to float inside the carrier
