Post subject says mostly all at this point. SMGGUNS in Texas (NOT the FG42.us project) is producing semi-auto FG42 Type II rifles. They are hoping to have an ATF sample approval this year and start production on rifles soon after (this year hopefully). No cost estimate yet, but they are making statements that they expect the costs to be less than 1/2 what the Estes Adams guns are expected to sell for. Rifles should be 90-95% accurate to the original. No stamped receiver for now - solid - as they didn't want to do dies right now. They will probably post some on GB for initial hype sale to recoup costs, but they want them affordable to those of us who really want one. ME ME ME !!!! I asked about a Type I, and it is a "possibility".
The owner, Rick, appears to be a great guy to deal with and is posting updated info. as he can. If these rifles are all that and more, I'm in for one as long as it doesn't cost more than my PTR44 did; which has some disappointments, but is still my #1 Safe Queen. My reviews of their other Firearm products makes this look veeeeery promising indeed.
Cheers!!!

Re: Semi FG42 Type IIs being made in USA
I don't think its appropriate to lable the "other" guys FG42's as Este's guns. While he did most of the design work and was a big part of the start up he is not involved in all the rip-off work done by the other scumbucket. It just seems a bit off to make it sound like Estes had anything to do with that disaster.
