Ratchet plate pics?

I'm getting ready to weld on a new rtg ratchet plate. Can someone post a pic or provide a link that shows what the old style looks like compared to the new style. I scribed a line before I removed the old one but I misplaced the front portion. I guess my concern is I want to get this new one ground correctly before I weld it in place.

On my ratchet plate it does not have the leg that hangs down by the slot where the charging handle goes (forward section of the ratchet plate) through the receiver. The rtg plate has it. I should be able to cut the rtg plate to match the profile of the original? I guess I don't understand the reasoning for the leg or the dimples in the plate. Also,I was having trouble getting the charging handle to fit correctly under the ratchet plate. I then noticed on the old plate there has been a slot cut the entire length of the plate for the charging handle to ride in. I guess I will need to mill this slot on the new rtg plate?

yes, you will have to mill the ratchet plate. The dimples are there for added strength to the ratchet plate where the groove is milled into it. I will be posting more pics tonight on the tab you are missing. it is easy enough to fab one.

Thanks for the help Oakrodent. I should have been more clear about my ratchet plate. I have since found the front portion of the ratchet plate for my M53. The front portion of my plate is profiled differently than the rtg plate. It does not have the leg that protrudes down by the cocking handle slot. Should I profile the rtg plate like my old one or use it as is? What is the function of "the leg"? Again, thanks for all your help.

The "leg" gives the cocking handle something to push against to unlock the bolt.
