Value

Post by wilfx »

I haven't visited here much in the past. I was at one time up to my ears trying to learn about putting an MG42 together. Well I went out and bought a Yugo M53 kit. Then awhile later I bought a 3cut german receiver. I had grand plans on using the M53 guts on the German receiver.
Time has past and I now find myself in the position of having to sell my kit and the receiver. As I said I have not been around in awhile. I don't know what my stuff is worth. I have pictures. But I don't know how to get them on the site.
So if anyone is willing to help I would apppreciate it.
If there is any interest I would like to sell to someone on this board. Just my way of saying thanks for all the help I have received. Even if I didn't post or ask, I was still watching and listening.

Well, take some time to learn what the general value of your kit is from other sales on here and other boards and post a WTS message in the appropriate subboard with a reasonable selling price. You can always take reasonable offers if you have no idea what it's worth, but I recommend you do a little looking to find out. I can't say that it will sell fast, but this audience is definitely where you wasnt one of your ads.

wilfx,
I have listed a recent auction-sale from GunBroker-Auctions of 14 October 2009, that ended at $1,076 for your review. SA42 tac-welded together on a WWII German receiver, two-calibers/barrels, extra-parts, and the semi-only parts required to finish.

The economy (and lose/free money for hobbies) is kind of tight right now......I would suggest that you view the many Gun-Auction-Pages on the internet. Then decide if you want to sell or store it until another time (?).

If you are still serious to sell, I am interested in your Parts-Kit w/3-cut receiver, and would ask you meet me at my below listed e-mail address. I need to make up an SA-42 to use as a "test-bed" for the 2-pcs. Blank-Barrel-Assemblies I am making for reeenactors, and for demonstrations firing "Blanks" in states that won't allow my C&R MG42.
Regards, RichardS in MI.

Blanksguy... I have a C&R MG-42. Send me your barrels and I'll "test" them at every reenactment event I go to! Truthfully, it would be nice to have a blank barrel for my gun, but I just haven't worked up the desire to throw my money in that direction. I hear your barrels are tip top though.

A true humanitarian!![in this context, the word means 'cheap'] In the same vein,DA,I have a big pile of 8MM,if you will send me your C&R 42 ,I will test it for you.I will even supply my own barrels. But it is good to see Richard is interested in making a semi for test purposes. It is this constant testing that makes him the guy to go to for blanks, blanks barrels, and info. Thanks,Richard! ---bil
