New Members - checking for known spammers.
I've found a site that lists known forum spammers.

Its easy to use and helped me to ID a few pending members as spammers before they ever got a chance to be a$$holes.
My intention is to let all new membership applications sit for a few days before vetting them with this site before approval of their membership.
Salt take a look at that site they have downloads available to help with spamming you might want to incorporate into the forum.
