TNW Small Spring for Sear Release Mechanism - Any Sources??

I just called TNW to order a few spare parts for my semi-auto MG34 and one of the parts I need is the small spring that goes in between the bottom of the receiver and into the top of the sear release mechanism (please see picture). I figured that they would cost about .50 cents to a dollar each, but TNW wants $8 for these tiny springs which is ridiculous seeing that they get chewed up every 500-1,000 rounds. Does anyone know where to get these springs at a real price?? I could use 10-20 of them.

Well, I have never changed one, but it would seem that there should not be anything too special about this spring. At least not $8 special. You can always try this: get the best measurement you can from one of the springs and then check a place such as Mcmaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com). The different type/size of springs they have is just sick. They do not care if you order $2 or $20,000 and are very helpful. I used them to buy some roll pins that I needed for the restoration of my mg34 fortress mount.

I tried McMaster and unfortunately they don't carry springs that are the correct size. I did find a spring supplier that has springs that are the correct dimensions (length, OD, ID, Coil diameter and number of coils) the only thing I am trying to figure out is how to calculate the compression load as they offer two springs with different load ratings and while I think either spring would be fine, I am trying to match it as closely as possible.

The only other catch is that I need to make a $40 minimum order which would end up being about 40 springs which is more than I need. Maybe I will sell 20-25 of them if guys need them.

Beats the TNW $8 per spring price.

Brownwlls sells spring kits (all different diameters aprox. 8"-10" long in a clear tube), measure your diameter and see which set contains what you need. The spring kits are cheap and are a must for all of us home builders.
