Mg34 makers code
Mg34 makers code
My mg34 has serial number 573 on it but no year or makers code . The waffen amts say wa63 ... can anyone tell me what I've got please ?
Re: Mg34 makers code
Is the "s/n 573" on the shroud? I guess it could be a replacement part. I do have one that was buffed so thoroughly that the maker's code was purposely...yet artfully...eliminated, yet the s/n remains clear. Why?
Does it look really old (1934-5)?
Sometimes makers don't sign their work when they are still the only manufacturer.....Phil

Re: Mg34 makers code
The serial number is stamped on the barrel jacket , the top cover and the stock .
The mg is in a very tidy condition with most of its finish intact , I can't see any evidence of buffing.
I would like to post pictures of it but I don't have a degree in computer science !

Hi Diving,
It's actually possible to post photos onto this site pretty easily.
Just put your photo on your "Desktop".
Come to the site, post "Reply" to your previous posting.
Click "Attachments".
"Browse", choose your photo, then "Add files".
Then "Place inline", add your text, "Preview".
If it's OK, "Submit". You can change it later if necessary with the little "Edit" pencil...
Most firearms forums are endless discussion and argument because it's not easy to post photos.
Our site here is full of great "shots", each one worth 1000 words......Phil

Hi,
It's an MG34 who had his markings erased with a renumbering arsenal after war.
