Having problems with lockup. When I have the bolt fully to the rear and release the charging handle the AR hammer pushes on the bolt and creates friction. This is too much for the drive spring to overcome and the bolt stops approx 1/4" from full lockup. It locks just fine without the trigger pack installed.
Anybody else have this problem. I may ground off some metal from the hammer to smooth the operation but am cocerned I will lose too much meat and the hammer won't hit with enough power to ignite the primer

Re: Lockup on Semi
I had two different ar-15 hammer to choose from. Had the same type of problem with the one as you are. Switched to the other style/shape and run fine. Main difference in shape was on the end, which made the rub that you are talking about. I think that a little file work and a strong Wolf power hammer spring and lots of lub and you will be just fine.
Good Luck.
