Who ordered from CFS...
I have been going through my CFS parts kit and am also missing some small parts. I am missing a nut for the recoup and a pin that holds the machined receiver peice together that the lid pins to. Also my lid pin is broke like most everyone elses seems to be.
Is the pin that holds the machiened receiver peice together something special like the rear gripstick pin or just a bolt and nut? If any one has a pic it woudl be great.
Other than that I am very happy.

Its called the CAM piece , both sections should be numbered the same or you take a big risk using different unmached parts , and its held together with a rivit availible from BRP.morvedahl wrote: Is the pin that holds the machiened receiver peice together something special like the rear gripstick pin or just a bolt and nut?
"good , bad, .....I'm the man with the gun."
Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.

Thanks in advance for your help. I’ve been reading a lot of helpful information in the past post. I have a M53 parts kit that I picked up from CFS last week. I’ve been going through my parts and I’m missing a nut for the Recuperator an the Camming piece rivet.
Both camming piece sections are numbered the same. I also have a broken top cover hinge pin. Looks like someone knocked it out with the top cover closed. Overall I’m satisfied with the rest of the kit.
Thanks guys you have a great site.

Well, got the CFS kit. OK condition imo. BBL bore rough, exterior great. Like others, hinge pin flange damaged. Will turn one from O-1 steel and heat treat. 6mm trunion pin went missing. More lathe work. Will also have to turn external threaded bbl bushing as old was flame cut away. Whoever was running the gas ax was kind and left a bit of bush where the external threads meet the flange area. Enough to allow a measurement to reference where to weld new part on. The kit seems complete, though this 42 was defiantly shot some. The bolt is clean and shiny, some wear, not lots. The numbers are non-matching.
BTW, I called CFS regarding the bbls bore as the description said bbls "excellent". Cust. rep said I must have got a COD return, etc., as no kits remain in stock. Guy asked if I'd like to return it. Ahh, no thanks says I.

I am surprised that CFS admitted that they sell the returns from other customers! It is why they take "backorders", they fill some of those orders with the items that get sent back for exchange/refund. Nice they are honest about it.pcfxd wrote:Well, got the CFS kit. CFS may be out of M53's, but SARCO has more coming and Military Gun Supply received 200 recently. These retailers are all pricing about the same. The "3-pack" of M53's through Weaponeer is a really good deal, too. The importer hasn't run out of sets to sell, YET!!rocco1911 wrote:when you hit the bottom of the barrel and thats all thats left it pretty much dont make a difference you eighter want one or not you send it back and try somewhere else they may be out also then you miss the boat.
post #7 lol. Thanks Bil, I did browse the FS forum. Don't get me wrong. I just called CFS to see if they'd do something about the bbl bore condition. It's not a complete sewer pipe. Usable imo. The rest of the kit is aok. Certainly build-able.
Only time I did have to do a replacement part of a kit was from a G3 kit. I'm eyeballing the the fore end and thinking the bbl length looks short. Measured 14" bbl length. Seems some armorer had shortened and threaded the bbl. That vendor wanted that bbl'd fore end back and sent a very nice replacement. I could have built that as a G3K3 and registered as a SBR, but didn't care to go through the process and additional cost.
