Well , if it became a technical issue, you have the ar-15 fire control group( 3 parts), then you have all the parts that were custom made , which in my gun goes way over the 9-us parts stupidity rules. Its good that you bring that up, this 9 part rule gives the atf a fall back for prosecution. If they just don't like something they will find a way to get a DA to back them up. now how to prove they are "made in the usa",i took pictures of all my parts before assembling my gun.john

922r regs don't apply to belt fed guns since they are not 'shoulder' mounted. This is what I was told by Dennis when I asked the same question on weaponeer. I do think he knows his sh!t.

post a pic of this l1a1 fcg

now do modified parts count toward your us parts? like the bolt carrier is modified and so is the grip frame and rear reciever?

or do you only count the ar parts and the fireing pin with springs? :?
Great men are born in fire, it is the privilege of lessor men to light the flame, no matter the cost

modified parts don't count, once a foreign part always a foreign part.

Got one question how does the sear engage the hammer? Is there a spring to force it up?

Salt,

There is a sear spring that keeps tension on the sear so it engages the notch in the hammer.
