The sewing is not hard. Position your covers were you want them and use clothes pins to hold them in place. Use an awl to make the holes. With a needle on both ends of your thread start next to a leg, pull a needle through the first hole to the middle of the thread. Go to the next hole and push one end from the inside and the other from the outside with the thread crossing in the same hole. Pull tight and repeat. If you want the stiches doubled on the ends, start several holes in, working out then back. Work in short segments and take your time. If the edges are too long you can trim them by using the steel as a guide after your done. Finish by doubling back/tying off. It's looking good so far! You can make a spanner wrench by measuring the hole spacing then drilling to match into a piece of steel. Use the back end of a couple of the right size drill bits after drilling for the drive pins. You can make it whatever shape that you need by making a cardboard pattern first to check with. Hope this helps.
