To start with "I absolutely have all the parts i need brother." sounds interesting.
In review you are getting paid to build this and you want our help, ok. When a link is offered you might want to review it a lot. Someone might have spent a few minutes looking it up for you.

Which I posted for your review a few posts ago. You are missing or not showing the front screw/bolt in the 3rd picture which sets the front distance. In the second picture there is an arrow which shows where the back of the WW2 style recuperator ends at. Therefore you should have your distance. The size of the tube length really has not changed from what is said in this post. A longer tube has been added in the post war mg3 style after the main block in the recuperator. As DI's nice teaching thread states some folks have cut that extra tube length off and welded and it's worked for them. Or they have cut items inside to make a mg3 recup fit. Not something that I would do. Of course I have a lot of the WW2 recups that I can use avoiding the problem that you are dealing with.
The front hole info is on pages 13 and 16 in the brp manual pdf that I sent you a copy of.

With this I'm going to wish you the best of luck ""brother"". At this point I have sent you the pdf that you could not download, looked up topics and given them to you, called and talked with you and then you state ""I absolutely have all the parts i need brother."" well I think that you are there also with me on any more help that you might need.
We should remember who is getting paid to do this build and who is not ""brother""..

thank you to cz2 and 42rocker for all your input. cz2 gave me the measurement on the recoup I was looking for and have come to the conclusion that its gotta be but in order for it to fit. Just wish I could find the mod on line somewhere. Im going to go for it....stand by for pics of the finished product....

Hi Scott, After reviewing your post, First off in my opinion ditch the shortening plan. You are gonna open a can of worms with an unknown spring rate. The BRP print is only showing the dimensions to be removed from the sheet metal wing on the recoup. Like 42 Rocker, I thought it looked like you have an mg3 rear end. After seeing your rear end pic. thats not the case. Your receiver mid section is a bit of a mystery. No dimples but has the feed slot creases in the top. "not BRP". If you have a complete mg3 recoup. "with L- screw" In excellant condition. I will swap you straight up for a standard length complete in same condition. I have several mg3 rears for my next projects and can utilize it there.
You have to come up with an alignment jig. Lots of ideas out there. I especially like marknct's idea using a ridgid through rod and adapters. Dont forget the bolt blocker mods. Front bushings there already. Got your complete bolt, fcg. Man your almost there. :D RR

42rocker I in no way meant to offend you in any way and If I did I apologize! I'm in the process of opening my shop, dealing with the city, and I have a pile of MG's that need to be built! If your interested give me a call and Ill send you the kit and you can make the $! RR, thank you very much for the vote of confidence! Iv been beating myself up with this build. My wife has about had it with the constant talking about it, obsessing over it, you know the drill. SO, I'm going to take your advice and make the jig. That way I'm dead-nuts. PM me and we can do the trade. I have 3 MG3 recoups and your absolutely right about cutting and making my own, I for sure know about the perils of not enough spring tension and what it can cause. anywho, I wish all my "BROTHERS IN ARMS" a meritorious day!!!
