Damage to casing neck after shooting?

I just shot my mg reweld for the first time. Here is a picture of the two casings showing the damage to them. What should I look for that would be causing this? Thanks

Shooting off the bipod or lafette? The lafette throws the empty brass at the chute and damages a lot of them-if off the bipod I don't know...

High speed photography would solve this question immediately. Try putting a rubber pad (piece of radiator hose or similar) on the front of the trigger guard to see if the brass is twirling into it upon ejection.

That's what it was on mine, the rubber pad worked well. I also had the bolt moving pretty fast on my SA. Slowing that down also helped.

Not like THAT it doesn't!!! Those cases are totally mauled. Something very wrong is going on...

Hot Round and no rubber on the front could do that. First add a piece of hose to the the front of the trigger, then see what the brass looks like.

The trigger guard has nothing to do with these casing spoils. After hitting a trigger guard (MG-42) the casing looks like this :





These are from my collection, dug from MG nest in Kurland Kessel.

In case of motley13crew something is wrong with ejection I think.

I'll buy that. Your pic shows nice clean dents or caving in. The case on the right in his pic looks like it was crushed head on, sort of like it didn't clear the ejection port and the bolt ran into it or rammed it into the ejection port.
