Removing left and right closure plates

Post by MrMilo »

Removing the left and right closure plates is now the step I'm working on. I have the backplate off, feed tray out, and spring cover off so I am getting close. I have attached a few pics of challenge on getting the those plates off to remove the barrel extension and get the barrel out. Sorry with all of the questions but the last thing I want to do is damage the gun in any way.

Just pull them rearward. They will slide out. If tight tap with a brass hammer. Fwiw I rarely remove the backplate from my guns. Everything can be easily pulled from the gun simply by hinging the backplate downward after removing the top pin. Think of the bottom pin as only having a certain number of removals before the tit is damaged. Only remove it when needed. Plus the trigger bar can be damaged as well by improper removal of the backplate.
