chrome lined barrels for mg42

Does anyone know about the late war issue chrome lined barrels? I think they are specially marked I think with a Cr is
this correct? I would like know more about these barrels if they exist in any numbers and how to spot one. [diz]

This was discussed recently on here. Do a search for chrome barrels and look at the pictures. Chrome is shiny, blued is not. Look at the chamber end where it contacts the bolt head and it will be shiny there. Only the inside and chamber end face were chromed.

Here are pictures of three "cr" marked MG42 barrels. Muzzle face is also chromed. There are a number of 'cr" markings locations, but the barrel stub is the most common. JH

MG42 WW2 German chromed bolt heads are available as well. They are very easy to distinguish from the standard bolt head. This example has a chromed firing pin as well JH
