This is really neat. German Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) assault gun after being sunk in the mud bogs in Russia since WWII pulled out in amazing condition. The paint appears intact and the tracks still turn after they got it out. I've seen a few tanks pulled out of bogs, but never one that was in this condition.
I'm guessing the crew may have drove it unknowingly over the frozen swamp and broke through the ice.
Hope they made it out.

Re: STuG III found in the mud
This was actually dug out some time ago, maybe about 3-5 plus years ago now, can't remember. In any case, and from what I recall, the Stug was left parked up in the elements where it was allowed to be picked over by the local thievery and the paint allowed to drop off and the rust to grow.
Typical. As someone said they should have just left it in the mud until someone actually cared instead of getting their pockets quickly lined, which they didn't. Reason for it sitting idle.
At 7m50secs it shows a penetration.
Tom.
