Looking over Folke's book, I note that the MG34 had an early style firing pin retainer that looked like a cylinder. How hard are these to find and what would one expect to pay for one?
Thanks,
Joe

Well there are some members that can give better info as to how rare, but where to buy-for that I would try Brian at www.BRpguns.com, call b/c e-mail can take some time for a reply. He handled many more '34s than most during the parts kit importation zenith.

I don't think they are that rare. Either that or I got lucky, which I doubt. Four of the five I have are of this early type. If my experience is anything to go by it's the later type that's the rarer of the two. Jonathan.
