MG08 Parts, Sled, Etc

Post by zwade »

Hi\, my friend inherited some MG-08 Maxim parts, including a huge 100# sled! We are going to get an inventory together this weekend with pics. What is the best way to get these appraised and sold? Neither are licensed dealer.. and we live in the republik of cali. Any special laws that we should be aware of?

Thank you in advance for any expertise you have to offer or share.

There are plenty of buyers here and elsewhere, including overseas so this 'inheritance' will bring a nice return. You cannot go far wrong listing here on this web site as although most are members of other web community's the majority are here. You could of cse go to a dealer but understandably you will get dealer prices, and they will still be sold to members of this web site!!! :D
I think the best way is to photo and list here. If you ask for offers you then have the freedom of choice, unless someone offers an overwhelming amount for the whole collection. I am interested and I am in UK but there are many other European and US individuals who will be as equally excited. Good luck.

Zwade I would like to make an offer for all pieces. Shall I wait until you list everything?

Whats the serial number on the top cover? If you don't mind, I track them.

Nice group of parts but a bit rough. Where did you find them?

Hopefully you got my PM.

So enquiring minds want to know, is the sled for sale? And then, of course, how much?

I'm in need of an MG08 back plate assembly, feed block, fusee spring and cover. I am very, very interested - if you come up with some numbers please let me know. Thank you much!

For 08 and 08/15 parts you need to spk to Matt. I get nearly all my stuff from him and prices are certainly fair and below some of the mad auction prices in the USA.

Thanks Mark! I have a feeling I know who he is and he has. I am glad to see you like my prices! I guess I need to raise my prices! :)

Just as a disclaimer... I can not ship out of the USA, sorry.

Yes - I have INDEED talked with Matt. I think I talked to him TOO much!!!! All of a sudden I'm finding myself scrounging parts for a gun I never thought I'd have the pleasure of owning and it's pretty much TOTALLY his fault!!!

Ok - I may have had a little to do with it but I have to blame the majority of this particular flu bug on Matt. Yes - his prices are very good - I just couldn't resist myself!!!!

It's a good thing he's not in my neighborhood.

Well Zwade,

You will get a great deal of attention with these parts, you have come to the right place.

Just do not go to Rick Harrison's Gold And Silver Pawn Shop (of "Pawn Stars" fame) he will likely only offer you $200 for the Sled and entire lot of parts

As for Matt, he is very persuasive at getting people to realize their Maxim endeavors :D , yes his prices are very fair, he packs them for shipping better than anyone, VERY helpful, and an all around cool cat 8)
