New book: German rifle grenades and launchers of WW1+2

Post by GGG »

Dear collectors,

since a few days my book "Deutsche Gewehrgranaten und Gewehrgranatgeräte bis 1945" (German rifle grenades and launchers till 1945) is finished. It was a long work during the past years, but now it’s ready and I got the first package from the print shop. :D

The book is bound with hardcover and contains 396 pages with 706 pictures (many of them are in colour).

Please note: The language is German only !!

This book shows the German developments and their use in both world wars. Described are the different rifle grenades (incl. experimental grenades), the launchers and special weapons for shooting the grenades (grenade rifle, MG 151, 2-cm-Flak, etc.), the use in foreign countries and copies made by other nations (GB, Japan, Italy, etc). A lot of interesting colour pictures show the details of original grenades and weap-ons. Included are also lists of manufacturers and drawings from patents.

The prices are
- in Germany 39,- EUR incl. postage (registered and insured).

- in Europe 42,- EUR incl. postage (registered and insured).

- to USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan 68 USD by airmail incl. postage (registered and in-sured).

And if you like I can sign the book for you.

Payment is accepted by bank transfer, Paypal or cash (EUR or USD) in a registered letter.

My email-address is: GGBuch@web.de

With best wishes from Germany
Michael Heidler

Thanks

Too bad that it's in German only. But 396 pages are too much to translate ... and my English is not perfect enough.

Missed this the first time through.

I'll bet this book is great, just like the first book that you did on codes. Which I understand is now sold out.

Thanks for the kind words. I have only two codebooks left (got them from a museum's shop). But that's all ... :(

But the rifle grenade book will not be sold out in the near future. It's a very special theme.

My thoughts, if you are in the USA send him Euro's like I did for his last great book. He just might work with you on a special rate.... Not d-marks but Euro's, he even sent back change.
Now if I could just read German.....

Dear collectors,

I just want to let you know that my rifle grenade book is nearly sold out now.

Yesterday I got the last few ones from the publisher. So if someone is interested, it's probably the last chance.

I do not know if the publisher will make a new print since the book sold very slow.
Anyway it is a very special theme and so I'm really happy that it was possible to publish this book.

Not sure what I will do next ... I should have more time for my hobby :(

With best wishes
Michael

Do detailed research with kata of mg34 and mg42's and their Lafette's. With lots of the details that the two of you seem to always find.
Or Enjoy LIFE as best as you can.

Second Edition finished: German rifle grenades and launchers

Post by GGG »

Hello everybody,

I have good news for anybody who was interested in my sold-out book about German rifle grenades and launchers.
After a long time of waiting, my publisher has now printed a second edition!
Please note that the language is still German only.

The book is now printed in much better quality and on better paper.
An additional chapter was added about the post-war period covering the early German Bundeswehr (Army) and Bundesgrenzschutz (Border Guard).

The new edition now contains 432 pages with 764 pictures (black/white and colour).

Because of the increased weight of 1,2 kg (2.65 lb) the price incl. shipping is:

Germany: 44,-- €
Europe: 53,-- €
Rest of World: 75.00 $US

Thanks :)

It was a long way to get this second edition done, but that's always the same problem with very special topics.

GGG,
Yes.......a book in English would open your "market" to such places as the USA, England, Australia, etc..

Translating the book to English language is not the problem ... the problem is to find a publisher. In the past years I have contacted a lot of publishers in the US and Canada (Schiffer, CollectorGrade, etc.), but noone was interested in my codebook or the rifle-grenade book because of the "too special topics". So I finally did it together with a German publisher.

Not sure if there will be a chance for an English edition in the future.

Sorry

Michael,
Try HEIMDAL publishing, they just published a very good hard cover bilingual book (French/English) on the German jerry can. A bilingual book may be the way to go with yours also.

I received my book from Michael today. For the non-German speakers/readers I would like to tell you that the book is worth it just for the photographs alone. Since I can read German it is an amazing piece of work. My wife got a bit miffed because I starting reading it as soon as I got the bag open and did not put it down for an hour. Something about a holiday coming up. I would like to wish all of the members of the forum a Happy Holiday Season and a Super New Year. Harry
