MG53 RATCHET PLATE

Post by 1851NAVY »

I'm currently building an MG53 semi auto and am lacking the full ratchet plate. Using a sketch and my existing parts I drafted this myself for the build community to use (and me). It's from a 53 - not a 42 but may work on them as well. I'm not sure what the milled slot is for on the back side but I included it - it's probably not necessary. It is full scale on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet.

Bill - that's good to know - now I will be sure to use the slot for alignment when I reweld it and keep the weld out of that area!

Yes-that is the main problem when rewelding the torched ones, you have to get it right, and it is very hard to get a dremel in there to do any trimming! ---bil
