Patronentrommel 34 pictures wanted!
I am writing an article for my homepage on the Saddle drum for the MG34, but really need some original photos showing the Patronentrommel in use. Contributed photos will of course be credited! Any and all help appreciated!

Re: Patronentrommel 34 pictures wanted!
Thanks fab, but those are all pictures of the Gurtrommel 34. I am looking for pictures of the Patronentrommel 34 (The saddle drum!)
Re: Patronentrommel 34 pictures wanted!
pics are probably rarer than the doppeldrums themselves! - matt
Re: Patronentrommel 34 pictures wanted!
Yeah, strangely enough, it appears so! The early manuals are full of them, but so far I have only found two pictures of the drums in actual use. But given the fact that it actually was a issue item used by the troops there should be SOME pictures out there!
Oh well, will still use a few more days to get all the info together......so still plenty of time to send me those pictures guys!!

Another one you probably have 'cause I stole it from da interweb
Re: Patronentrommel 34 pictures wanted!
I saw the second one on the internet a long time ago. I like that first one, that officer is spittin' out the brass. It looks like an ebay pic as well. - matt

Excellent work Ed!
Just what I needed. I have only found pictures showing the PT34 in the AA-role use so far! This adds a few dimensions.
Note the picture with the bull-neck officer! He has his line of sight through the handle, as it has folded down again as it is supposed to do!

I think it will work either way! Somewhere I had a picture of the double drums being used on a SDKFZ 251,but I have looked all over and no luck yet! ---bil

Cool picture of the guy shooting the MG34 with the DT prone! I think that he's an NCO, and not an officer, due to the leather chinstrap on his hat; I blew the picture up a little to look at it better, and you can actually see brass in motion flying out, that's a neat firing shot. If you blow it up, he also appears to have the Schutzenschnur shooting award, the twisted cord can be seen hanging down between his arm and torso. That's an early 4 hole MG34 too, I think.
Great pic!
Great pic!

nice site. Wow, I'm glad I bought some of my kit a few years ago. Looks like some items have went up 40 to 70 percent increase.
