Ratchet plates

Post by mga_coupe »

What are the pros and cons (assuming there must be some) of the old style ratchet plate vs the new one with the dog leg. The original plate on my German receiver pieces doesn't have the dog leg. The dimples on the new ones are also different. Are the old ratchet plates not available anymore?

Many Thanks,
Matt

Both styles are still availlable.I am not sure if there is an advantage to one over the other. ---bil

Cosmetic maybe? Perhaps it made the germans feel sexy, and they decided to keep the design that way.

I'd like to buy an old style plate, but can't seem to find one. Any leads?

Thanks
