Kalifornia Flash Hider Cone

Post by DRH »

Kalifornia does not allow flash hiders on semi auto guns with detachable mags or belts. So I have cut out a flash hider cone for my build. Here is a picture. It still needs a little filing, the dremel tool sure got hot.

BATFE has ruled their not flashiders there recoil cones or some such.
be careful and stay legal but FED. legal definitions will usually stop an overzealous local DA cold.

Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of

Kali law has no reference to Federal law as to what is a flash suppressor. The DOJ assault weapon guide definition for flash suppressor is as follows: Any device designed, intended, or that functions to preceptibly reduce or redirect muzzle flash from the shooter's field of vision. While it may never be an issue, I am taking no chances. The Kali DOJ has come up with many very stange interpretations on some items. For example, they claim a sten loop stock is a thumbhole stock because you can put your thumb through the stock or the 22mm diameter muzzle break on the Yugo 59/66 is a felony destructive device grenade launcher. This nanny state is just stupid.

TomR, These links are suppose to work in the MG42 and MG34 machine guns. I have no personal verification of this claim. It does look like they would be a better option than M60 links.

De-Spring Your Belts

Post by BELTLEAD »

Tom,

I solved my problem with the belts. All you have to do is remove the spring on every 15th round of the belt.Take a pair of needle nose pliers and bend the end of the spring out at the same angle as the spring and then twist the spring in a counter-clockwise direction, out from the link and you now have 15rd. belts.

BELTLEAD

Tom,

Is your 1919 home-built?I have a 1919 kit I bought from Weaponeer and had my internals machined by someone else, but I haven't gotten round to putting it together.

How about your MG42.Can't you buy a tank muzzlecone from RTG for $30,would that be considered NJ legal?I've seen a TNW MG34 purchased from my local gunsmith in our Commie state and it had the standard muzzlecone attached.

I still think you could just weld a plate on the end with a hole in it. You could also weld a tube so there is no camber behind the plate.
