Took my Army recruiter to shoot the 42...
Just so happens my Army recruiter is as much into guns as I am. So of course when the subject turned to guns, he said come on over and we'll shoot! I said hell yeah!
Although I was still having problems with the charging handle. I was able to grind the edges flat on the handle and bolt and that seemed to help alot. I did have alot of light primer strikes though... So I'm thinking I need to look into getting Pirates v2.0 bolt mods... Definitely...
The 42 is still not refinished.. I want to get it 100% reliable before doing that... And with working almost 7 days a week it's hard to work on it..
But anyway, on to the pics!!
Sgt Wilcox, my recruiter. He loved it!
I love it!!!

Matt,
good to hear that your shooting it.
had to round the corners off of my charging handle to get it to slide real nice.
oh and so far with Pirates new V2 grip ive not had a lite primer strike on the Romanian or the Turkish 8mm. it really WHACKS them. get one and see if that doesnt do the cure all for you.

sdk, you mean the grip or the bolt??
I have a Wiselite grip so I don't have anything to compare it to.. It utilizes the AR FCG too...

Matt,
yeah im using the V2 FAL version from Pirate with his bolt set up and it really whacks it good. only got to shoot 25 rnds tonite of the Turk stuff, it lit them all.
(for those wondering, Matt and me did some trading a while back on a different build)

SDK-are you using the new style bolt mods,or the older version? Matt-your 42 looks good!Maybe it will help you get a better 'job' in the service-they can't have too many guys that have built their own SA,at least at the recruit level!! ---bil

Bil,
PIrate has to answer that. LOL
he did the mods & im guessing that the bolt is his newer version, since the grip is definitely the new version.
all i can tell you is that it fell right in and works perfect.
Matt what type of finish are you gonna go with?
